Although I still wouldn't suggest getting a WRT54G version 5. If you have one, you are now in luck. Jeremy Collake has found a way to remove the VxWorks bootloader. This will allow you to upload third-party firmware. The upgrade is fairly easy to do and only has to be done once. They are currently working on getting the new WRT54GS models over to Linux.
